Built for standard 2" NPT openings on fuel transfer tanks, this vented fill cap includes a removable top cap with a 2-inch thread cast iron base. The heavy-duty cast iron base, paired with a spring-loaded mechanism and a gasket, prevents evaporative losses and leaks and protects the equipment and the quality of fuel by keeping out contaminants such as dust, moisture, and rust. The valve lets air move both ways: when fuel leaves the tank, the vent admits air so fuel flows smoothly. When the tank is heated or when the fuel and vapor expand, the vent releases air and vapor to prevent over-pressure and tank deformation. The vented fill cap also features a padlock hole that fits a padlock with 1/4" to 5/16" diameter shackle to secure the cap and prevent theft. Overall, this vent cap is ideal for use with fuel transfer tanks to prevent leakage, ensure safety, and maintain the quality of stored fuels such as diesel.
The vented fill cap is easy to install and remove:
• Push down on the top cap and twist it clockwise to tighten.
• Push down on the top cap and twist it counterclockwise to remove.
